How Culture-relative are Morales?

In the piece of Ethics and Religion, the author's awareness to different types of morality is truly amazing. The way he sorts through different regions and different circumstances and explaining different sides to everything is something not typically seen by others trying to describe morals. What I find interesting is that when I was reading this I became self aware that this was actually true that every culture has relatively drastic sets of different morals. The fact that those, especially in college, who typically fall short of realizing that is simply due to the bubble of a life we live in. Sure news outlets and things of that sort expose us to the world, but to experience different moralities and cultures is something completely different and to have an absence of that exposure skews us to some extent. I want to push the idea of Cultural-Relativism simply because there is an issue in that there is a lack of sensitivity to it. Some of the hugest problems between different races and countries is the lack of sensitivity to cultural relativism. In some regions community ties are far more important than international and vice versa. In some countries morale standards and prorities are more traditional than the more advanced countries and therefore there is a lack of mutual understanding that leads to conflict. A modern example of this I can think of was in Afghanistan, where men and women of the American armed forces went to secure the area away from the Taliban who terrorized the north of the country and the rest of the Middle East. The sense of morals of the soldiers is to exterminate a threat to the well being of the region and international community and stabilize the area. On the other hand the morals of the Afghan civilians towards the south is to protect their own country men and to get rid of a seemingly hostile force that wants oppress them as other hostile forces have done before (Britain, Russia, Persia etc.). At the same time they also must defend their families from the hostilities of the Taliban themselves, because to protect is the top priority in their culture and the moral responsibility is to protect the community. As far as a Guitar and mother's present situation goes as well, it would vary region to region, to a large extent. In some areas of the world it would seem that this is the time that a person would need to explore themselves above all others and abandon anything holding them back. In more conservative regions, it is disgraceful to not serve the family for they have served you and nurtured you until this point, it is impolite to turn back on even the slightest opportunity to give back.
