Torture
Within the United states of America, torture has been used to ascertain information, save lives of troops and get things done in a fast an efficient manner. However it has created a menacing environment for anywhere that is close to a U.S. base of our armed forces and has given a power to people that do not know how to use it in a proper manner, and in turn abuse it. We as the United States are actually so good at torture that even our enemy countries use our same tactics to torture their citizens or captives because at one point they were trained by us. The sheer amount of pain and abuse is relentless and can range from placing electrodes to nerve sensitive areas to attaching an IV bags full of medicine to make detainees undergo psychosis (Doses of Larium). On top of these issues we also have those who do not know how to manage these powers. With the budget of US military interrogators have an unlimited budget when it comes to national security and with it comes a willingness to commit every act to make someone speak. Humanity goes right out the door and instead savagery that was used by the same detainees before has become the use of the power that claims to be righteously liberating. This would actually be even justified if one were to have no care for human rights to insurgents but the CIA and US military cannot even get the people they need to torture properly. There have been too many instances in Guantanamo Bay and outside prisons used for interrogation being captured for no reason and tortured for hours and imprisoned for years because they looked "suspicious," or simply were Muslim and that was enough right for evidence. Imagine being taken from a corner of a street, or your own house in front of your family and imprisoned for 5 years and being consistently tortured, when you haven't done a wrong in your life. Again, the necessity for torture in dire situations can be justified, but the irresponsibility and incompetence of our agencies has led me to be wary that we can use such a tactic without harming too many in the process.
