When looking at the pieces in regards
to euthanasia particularly the piece about Thailand, has lead me to come to the
conclusion that when making decisions about the suffering of another person and
prolonging their life, the decision should solely be based upon medical facts. These
decisions should not be make on the base of certain religious beliefs but
rather the medical facts of the case. The decision to end a life is possibly
the hardest decision that one could make but it should not be made based of what
a certain religion dictates but rather the quality of like that one will lead.
Recently in the news the story of Brittany Maynard has become a hot topic of discussion.
She received the news that she was terminally ill and would have less than four
month to live, she decided to enjoy her live and do what she wanted, in the end
being euthanized. She sadly is no longer with us but I bring up this point to show
that she took her family into account and the quality of life that she would
live and the affects it would have on her family. When it comes down to matters
of life and death I personally feel that religious beliefs should not become
the number one priority, the weel being and quality of life of that person
should. If that person is going to suffer and not have a good life I feel that
they should have the right to end their own life.
