Blog 10

In general, I don’t agree with any sort of slavery that exists. Especially the sex trade.  To clarify, I mean the sex trade that one does not enter under their own free will, but are stolen into, or sold into.  Unfortunately, it is an industry in many parts of the world.
The main reason I have a problem with this is that it takes women who are very young, and puts them into a powerless position, essentially taking advantage of them. To make things worse, fear and violence are used to control these women, and with disease running rampant due to unprotected sex in mostly developing parts of the world that lack healthcare to deal with these diseases, death is inevitable.  It’s truly despicable that violence and fear are used to keep these women in a dangerous servitude. I can’t dignify that specific sex trade by calling it a profession.
