Sex slavery is travesty, but unfortunately is in the business of making big money and pleasure for others, these two combinations make the sale of women and the transport extremely worth it for the sellers and the cycle is quite hard to break. In places like Nigam, sex slavery is quite hard to break due to the fact that the routes are unmanned, the authorities cannot stop it because the area in which traveled is too large, and unfortunately more often than not they are paid off to not look. The lucrative nature and aspect in which is serves seems to hold priority over the actual dignity of human beings be treated like human beings.
The next issue we find is the fact that the girls are coerced and lied to during their captivity. They are convinced that they are in debt and that they must stay to pay things off. The psychological captivity adds to their physical captivity and causes more scarring and issues that need reparation. One thing that is essential to the progression of theses women back into society as well which is mentioned in the Nigam article is the rehabilitation that needs to occur. Rehabilitation and the teaching of these women needs to be made a priority if there is to be progress made in stopping this. Rehabilitation is key simply because if there is awareness then more people will understand the dangers and help to stop, and with the more people aware there will be less people at risk.
